Day 1: Departure from USA.
Day 2: Arrive in Paris and we're off to visit Caen, the city of William the Conquerer. Visit St. Peter's Church in Caen. St. Peter's Church in Caen is a splendid example of the transition between Gothic and Renaissance forms. Dinner and overnight in Normandy.
Day 3: Late start and free morning to enjoy the area of Normandy. After lunch, visit Mont Saint-Michel. The towering turrets of the abbey at Mont Saint-Michel are one of the most iconic images of France. The village and monastery are built on a rocky outcrop in the middle of a tidal flat and connected to the mainland by a causeway. It is considered to be one of the wonders of the western world. Dinner and overnight in Normandy.
Day 4: Early breakfast and begin the D-Day tour to discover Le Memoria de Caen and the D-day Landing Beaches. From the harbor of Arromanches to the Point du Hock and taking in Omaha Beach on the way. Listen to the story of the done day that led to the end of the Second World War. Dinner and overnight in Normandy.
Day 5: PARIS: This morning we drive to the town of Lisieux, the home to St. Therese, the Carmelite nun known as “The Little Flower” and the Newest Doctor of the Church. Here we will visit the site of the Lisieux family home, Les Buissonnets, and the Carmelite Convent Chapel which contains the remains of St. Therese. Next we visit the Basilica of St. Therese and celebrate Mass in its Crypt, where St. Therese's parents are entombed. Finally we continue on to Paris for dinner and overnight. Following dinner we enjoy an evening motor coach tour of the “City of Lights”. We will see the Arc de Triomphe, the Eiffel Tower and the Champs-Elysees. Dinner and overnight in Paris.
Day 6: Tour the Sainte-Chapelle (Holy Chapel) with its world renowned stained glass windows and admire its beautiful Rayonnant style Gothic architecture. In the afternoon, take a city bus tour visiting St. Vincent de Paul and the Chapel of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal. See the beautiful sites of the Hotel des Invalides, the Eiffel Tower, Champs-Elysees, Arc de Triomphem and Tuileries Gardens. Early dinner. After dinner, cruise along the Seine River and see all the beautiful sights lit up from the Seine River (Cruise could take place on a different day depending on the weather in Paris). Overnight in Paris.
Day 7: Visit the Louvre to see the Mona Lisa and the winged victory Nike. After lunch, visit the Basilica of Sacre Coeur and see the artists along Montmartre. Dinner and overnight in Paris.
Day 8: Fly to Lourdes - Upon arrival, you will be met by your tour guide and motor coach for transfer to the hotel. After checking into the hotel, we will enjoy dinner and participate in the Rosary Candlelight Procession at the Shrine. This is a seasonal event and may not take place during some tours. Dinner and overnight in Lourdes.
Day 9: We will start the day by celebrating Mass at the Grotto of Apparitions. We will enjoy a walking tour of Lourdes visiting places associated with St. Bernadette's life, which is helpful to understand the 1858 Apparition. Afternoon is free to visit the Grotto, the underground Basilica or the Miraculous Baths. After dinner, gather for the evening Candlelight Rosary Procession, if available. Dinner and overnight in Lourdes.
Day 10: Fly to Lisbon (Fatima). Tour of Lisbon by bus. Visit Santereim on the way to the Shrine where the Eucharistic Miracle took place. Dinner and overnight in Fatima.
Day 11: Full day in Fatima. Start off the day by going to Mass at the Little Chapel of the Apparitions. You will see the Basilica, the site of Francesco and Jacinta's graves, the Hamlet of Aljustrel, where the children lived, and Valinhos, the site of Our Lady's appearance after the children's return from prison. Experience Christ's love as you walk and follow the Stations of the Cross along the Via Sacra (The Sacred Way) culminating in the Chapel of Calvary, which overlooks all of Fatima. Join pilgrims from around the world in an evening candlelight procession to pray the rosary for the sick and drink water from the miraculous well. Time for private devotions before dinner and overnight in Fatima.
Day 12: Fly Back home.
Please note: We do our best to ensure that all sites listed in this itinerary will be seen. However, due to scheduling conflicts, or other circumstances beyond our control, sites may be visited on a different day than listed. If this happens it will also necessitate a change in the restaurant for dinner. However, we will never sacrifice the quality of the meal, all restaurants will meet Proximo Travel's very high standards. Since we have several different trip configurations touring at the same time, it is likely that groups on different tours will be combined when their itineraries overlap in certain areas.
