Trip Includes

  • Guided tours and tour fees ~ Our tour guides are very caring, licensed, and well educated. Many of our guides have their PhDs.
  • Luggage handling (1 suitcase and 1 carry-on per person).
  • Single Supplement If the passenger wants a guaranteed room of their own, they have to pay $1200 for a single supplement. As long as the passenger is willing to room with someone and allows us to provide them with a roommate the single supplement does not apply.
  • Remember: Our trips are not more expensive during high season ~ Passengers will never be expected to pay extra for anything while on the trip.

Steps For Registration

  1. Call us (855) 842-8001 or register online with a credit card and pay your $500 deposit per person to save your spot. The $500 deposit is part of the total price of the trip.
  2. A $1,000 Additional Deposit (AD) per person is due one month from the registration. The AD is paid ONLY in the form of check (personal, money order, or bank check).
  3. The balance is due 4 months before the trip departure date. The balance is paid ONLY in the form of check (personal, money order, or bank check).

  • NOTE: If you sign up for a trip within 4 months of the departure date, you pay the deposit of $500 with a credit card and the balance is required to be overnighted in the form of a personal check, money order or bank check.

  • Trip Itinerary

    Day 1: Departure from USA.

    Day 2: Arrival. Visit the Basilica of St. Paul outside the Wall where the body of St. Paul is buried. It is the 2nd largest basilica in Rome and the 5th in the world. (GO THROUGH THE HOLY DOORS in 2025 ~ Jubilee Year). Check in the hotel and rest for a few hours, if time permits. In the afternoon, we will be visiting St. Mary Major, the main Basilica dedicated to Mary in Rome. We will see the remains of Jesus' manger, the tomb of Bernini, the remains of St. Matthew the Evangelist, the tomb of St. Jerome, and the oldest icon in the world of the Virgin Mary painted by St. Luke: the famous Salus Populi Romani. (GO THROUGH THE HOLY DOORS in 2025 ~ Jubilee Year). Dinner and overnight in Rome.

    Day 3: Start the day around 9:30 am, by visiting the Vatican Museums and the Sistine Chapel (the Pope's private chapel). Proceed to St. Peter's in the Vatican, the largest Basilica in the world. (GO THROUGH THE HOLY DOORS in 2025 ~ Jubilee Year). There will be time for private devotion and shopping for religious items that will be blessed by the Pope the next day during the Audience. Proceed to St. John Lateran, the first Basilica ever to be built in the Roman Empire and the Cathedral of the Bishop of Rome, the Pope. (GO THROUGH THE HOLY DOORS in 2025 ~ Jubilee Year). Visit the Scala Santa, the stairs on which Jesus walked in the residence of Pontius Pilate on Good Friday. Long pants, capris, or skirts below the knee will be required and shoulders covered. Dinner at Trattoria da Luigi and overnight in Rome.

    Day 4: We will have an early start as our private bus takes us to the Vatican to experience the Audience with the Pope. There will be time for lunch in the Vatican area. Then proceed to the tour of the Colosseum from the outside. Visit the Spanish Steps known for the area where the Romans gathered to meet followed by a walk to the Trevi Fountain. We will continue on from there to the Pantheon, the oldest functional building in the world. We will conclude by visiting the great artistic Piazza Navona. Dinner and overnight in Rome.

    Day 5: On the way to San Giovanni Rotondo, visit Pietrelcina. This is the birthplace of Padre Pio. Dinner and overnight in San Giovanni Rotondo.

    Day 6: Tour of St. Giovanni Rotondo: Visit the old church, Santa Maria delle Grazie, the Friary of Padre Pio, his tomb, cell, confessional, and we end the morning with the new church, the Padre Pio Pilgrimage Church. Dinner and overnight in San Giovanni Rotondo.

    Day 7: Drive to Cascia to see the body of St. Rita and visit this great shrine. Dinner and overnight in Assisi.

    Day 8: See the tombs of St. Francis, St. Clare, and the body of Blessed Carlo Acutis; enjoy a peaceful walk on the streets of Assisi. Dinner and overnight in Florence.

    Day 9: Tour of Florence in the region of Tuscany. Tour of the Ponte Vecchio, Piazza della Signoria, the Uffizzi, Michelangelo's masterpiece, The David, Flea Market, Duomo (Cathedral), and the Baptistery. Tour Guide will show to those interested the location of the Basilica of San Lorenzo and the Medici Chapel (where the Medici family was buried), and Basilica della Santa Croce (where Michelangelo and 15 other glorious Italian artists and thinkers were buried). Casual dress throughout the day. Dinner and overnight in Florence.

    Day 10: Visit the Shrine of St. Anthony of Padua. Dinner and overnight in Venice.

    Day 11: Tour of Venice: an amazing city built on water. Leave for Venice in the morning on our private bus. Estimated time of arrival is 12:00 noon. Visit St. Mark's plaza. Optional: Gondola ride and shopping. Long pants if you intend to go inside St. Mark's. Casual dress if you intend to go on a Gondola ride or spend time shopping and visiting the beautiful streets and bridges of Venice. Dinner and overnight in Venice.

    Day 12: Fly back home.

    Please note: We do our best to ensure that all sites listed in this itinerary will be seen. However, due to scheduling conflicts, or other circumstances beyond our control, sites may be visited on a different day than listed. If this happens it will also necessitate a change in the restaurant for dinner. However, we will never sacrifice the quality of the meal, all restaurants will meet Proximo Travel's very high standards. Since we have several different trip configurations touring at the same time, it is likely that groups on different tours will be combined when their itineraries overlap in certain areas.
