  • Trip Itinerary

“A pilgrimage retreat is a ritual journey with a hallowed purpose. Every step along the way has meaning. The pilgrim knows that life-giving challenges will emerge. A pilgrimage retreat is not a vacation; it is a transformational journey during which significant change takes place. New insights are given. Deeper understanding is attained. New and old places in the heart are visited. Blessings are received and healing takes place. On return from the pilgrimage, life is seen with different eyes. Nothing will ever be quite the same again.” ~Macrina Wiederkehr, Behold Your Life~

Day 1: As you travel to Portugal, prepare your heart and mind for the profound experiences that await. Let the anticipation of this sacred journey fill you with hope and openness.

Day 3: Morning: After breakfast, immerse yourself in the profound spirituality of Fátima. Begin with a moving mass in the Capelinha das Aparições (Chapel of the Apparitions), feeling the presence of Our Lady. Visit the Basilica where Francisco and Jacinta are buried and walk in the footsteps of the young visionaries in Aljustrel and Valinhos, absorbing the simplicity and power of their experiences. However, due to scheduling conflicts, or other circumstances beyond our control, sites may be visited on a different day than listed. If this happens it will also necessitate a change in the restaurant for dinner. However, we will never sacrifice the quality of the meal, all restaurants will meet Proximo Travel's very high standards. Since we have several different trip configurations touring at the same time, it is likely that groups on different tours will be combined when their itineraries overlap in certain areas.
