Day 1, October 6: Fly to Montreal. Board our luxury tour bus and depart for the beautiful Niagara Falls. After lunch we will depart for Montreal. On the way, we will stop for a tour of a vineyard and winery that includes wine tasting and supper in Prince Edward County. Continue on for overnight in Montreal.
Day 2, October 7: Today we will visit two of the most important shrines in Canada. We will begin with the Basilica of Notre Dame. Big enough to hold 4,000 worshipers and breathtaking in the richness of its interior furnishings, the Notre-Dame Basilica in Montreal is a magnificent Neo-Gothic church. Designed in 1824 by James O'Donnell, an Irish-American Protestant architect from New York, the architect was so moved by the experience that he converted to Catholicism. Visitors to the basilica today can understand the impact. After lunch we will go over to the St. Joseph’s Oratory of Mount Royal. St. Joseph's Oratory is a great basilica with a giant copper dome built in honor of St. Joseph, patron saint of Canada. The massive edifice is high on the slopes of Mount Royale in Quebec. Dinner and overnight in Montreal.
Day 3, October 8: After breakfast we will leave Montreal. Our first stop will be to the Shrine of Our Lady of the Cape in Trois Rivieres. After our tour and time for personal devotions we will have lunch at the shrine and continue on to Quebec for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: This morning we will start the day with a visit to the St Anne de Beaupre Shrine, the second oldest pilgrimage site in North America dedicated to Saint Anne, the grandmother of Jesus Christ. Discover the shrine’s extraordinary history through its paintings, mosaics, stained-glass windows, and stone and wooden sculptures, and learn about the role it continues to play in our people’s faith. Balance of the day at leisure in Quebec. Dinner and overnight in Quebec.
Day 5, October 10: Today we will drive to the small community in Lac Brouchette to St. Anthony’s Hermitage. Here we will learn about the history of the Shrine, visit the museum and gardens, and spend time in personal devotions in the tranquility of the wooded grounds. On the way back to Quebec we will stop at the breathtakingly beautiful Montmorency Falls, which are 30 meters higher than Niagara Falls. Then dinner and overnight in Quebec.
Day 6, October 11: On this our last day of touring we will return to Montreal to visit the Cathedral-Basilica of Mary Queen of the World and St. James. After lunch, we will fly back home.
Please note: We do our best to ensure that all sites listed in this itinerary will be seen. However, due to scheduling conflicts, or other circumstances beyond our control, sites may be visited on a different day than listed. If this happens it will also necessitate a change in the restaurant for dinner. However, we will never sacrifice the quality of the meal, all restaurants will meet Proximo Travel's very high standards. Since we have several different trip configurations touring at the same time, it is likely that groups on different tours will be combined when their itineraries overlap in certain areas.
