Day 1: Tuesday, October 1 Depart USA.
Day 2: Wednesday, October 2 Arrive Catania- Check in, brief rest, visit some sites and dinner in Catania.
Day 3: Thursday, October 3 Some sights in Catania to enjoy are the Piazza Duomo Elephant Fountain, The Cathedral with the Chapel of Saint;Agata containing the saint treasures. Walk the famous Via Crociferi where you can see some wonderful examples of 18th century Baroque buildings: Jesuits; Church, Church of San Giuliani and the Benedictine Monastery. Walk on the Via Etnea, an elegant street lined with Baroque-style buildings and shops that crosses the city from Piazza Duomo to Piazza Stesicoro where you can see the Vincenzo Bellini Monument, the imposing Roman Amphitheater, and the Church of Saint;Agata alla Fornace. Dinner and overnight in Catania, Sicily.
Day 4: Friday, October 4 Visit the incredible city of Taormina. It is considered by many the most beautiful city of Italy. Dinner in Taomina and overnight in Catania.
Day 5: Saturday, October 5 Visit the famous Mount Etna in the morning. Travel to Messina and take ferry to Reggio Calabria. Check in, dinner.
Day 6: Sunday, October 6 Mass Reggio Calabria Cathedral. Tour Reggio Calabria: I Bronzi di Riace, Basilica Cattedrale Maria Santissima, Lungomare Falcomatà, and Castello Aragonese.
Day 7: Monday, October 7 Leave Reggio Calabria(8:30 am) to travel to Tropea, tour and lunch. Leave Tropea (3 pm) travel to Sorrento.
Day 8: Tuesday, October 8 Visit Sorrento, a coastal town in southwestern Italy, facing the Bay of Naples on the Sorrentine Peninsula. Perched atop cliffs that separate the town from its busy marinas, it’s known for sweeping water views and Piazza Tasso, a cafe-lined square. The historic center is a warren of narrow alleys that's home to the Chiesa di San Francesco, a 14th-century church with a tranquil cloister.
Day 9: Wednesday, October 9 Sorrento, visit a Limoncello Factory. Change to a smaller bus to proceed to Positano-Amalfi coast by bus. Dinner back in Sorrento or Pompeii.
Day 10: Thursday, October 10 The Island of Capri is the greatest place for many people. Optional: visit the extraordinary, beautiful Blue Grotto with its limestone bottom. Tour the island, shopping, and swimming. Dinner around the hotel area. Red and white wine included. Casual Dress throughout the day. Overnight in Sorrento or Pompeii .
Day 11: Friday, October 11 Fly back home.
Please note: We do our best to ensure that all sites listed in this itinerary will be seen. However, due to scheduling conflicts, or other circumstances beyond our control, sites may be visited on a different day than listed. If this happens it will also necessitate a change in the restaurant for dinner. However, we will never sacrifice the quality of the meal, all restaurants will meet Proximo Travel's very high standards. Since we have several different trip configurations touring at the same time, it is likely that groups on different tours will be combined when their itineraries overlap in certain areas.
